Hyderabad: TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy has accused the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of murdering democracy. He criticized the Modi-KCR governments for harassing farmers. He alleged that he was not allowed to try to meet the governor in protest of the agricultural laws recently brought by the Center. He spoke to Uttam Media in Hyderabad. He expressed concern that the BJP had passed three bills undemocratically in Parliament. Uttam alleged that the agricultural laws brought by the Center were not in the interest of the farmers but in favor of the corporates.
Uttam criticized that there was nothing in the agricultural laws brought by the Center to protect the farmers and that there was no guarantee of a minimum support price. He alleged that there were many conspiracies behind the agricultural laws and that the words spoken by Prime Minister Modi were inconsistent with the provisions contained in the law. Governments have a responsibility to protect food donors. It is alleged that nowhere in the three laws is there a guarantee on the support price for farmers. He said if there was a price across the country, it would be 25 per cent lower in Bihar. Uttam commented that Teresa had no sincerity in opposing agricultural bills. He alleged that farmers in Telangana were left without crop insurance due to KCR’s incompetence.
