AMRAVATI: DGP D Gautam Sawang has warned that some thugs in Andhra Pradesh, a symbol of religious harmony, are trying to disrupt peace and harmony between religions through social media and that such actions should not be ignored by the police. He said in a statement that action was taken on Wednesday in five cases registered in connection with temple incidents in the state. According to him in the statement, things related to temples should not be shared on social media without knowing whether it is real or not.
So far 27 of the 33 cases since the inception of the Antarvedi incident in the state have been cracked. Three interstate gangs were arrested. Of the 76 cases pending so far, 178 have been arrested. Some have publicized that these cases are unrelated. There is nothing wrong with taking legal action if you see disturbances in support of such incidents.
The statue of Goddess Saraswati was vandalized on the premises of Krishnaveni College in Narasaaraopet, according to social media reports. The fact of the matter is that the landlords leased the land to Krishnaveni College ten years ago. The college vacated them two and a half years ago. The owners of the place said that the statue of Goddess Saraswati was damaged in the process of removing the petal sheds built by the college. Moreover the propaganda that the statue was destroyed is untrue.
