AMRAVATI: The High Court has announced that a daily hearing will be held from Tuesday on ancillary cases filed with various requests regarding the capital issue. It is learned that ancillary lawsuits have been filed seeking to prevent the Raj Bhavan, the Secretariat, other departmental offices, police headquarters from moving to Visakhapatnam, allocating capital lands to third parties and directing them not to spend from the treasury for infrastructure projects in Visakhapatnam. The High Court said that these would be heard first and then the major cases would be known. Similar requests will be heard along with major lawsuits. As part of this, it has set aside the supplementary lawsuits to be heard from Tuesday from other lawsuits. Among those so separated were litigation over the allocation of housing to the poor.
A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Jitendrakumar Maheshwari, Justices Rakesh Kumar and Mallavolu Satyanarayanamurthy passed the order stating that the related cases related to the relocation of the capital would be heard through video conferencing but the main cases would be heard through physical hearing. The tribunal rejected Advocate General (AG) Shriram’s request to hear cases related to the allotment of housing to the poor before the capital relocation lawsuits. The AG brought to the notice of the apex court that the apex court had asked the apex court to expedite the hearing on the housing cases of the poor. Earlier it was decided that the issue of capital evacuation would be known.
