Hyderabad: Can the corona virus spread through the air? Scientists at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad have teamed up to find an answer to that question. Who is prepared to learn how the virus spreads in a hospital environment? How far can a virus travel through the air? How long can a gallon stay? How long can the virus stay in the infected person? All these aspects will be known through this research. The research began about ten days ago.
The research comes months after nearly 200 scientists around the world wrote a letter to the World Health Organization stating that the corona virus could spread through the air. CCMB Director Dr Rakesh Mishra said that they were currently conducting research on the spread of the virus in the hospital environment and based on the results would conduct research on areas such as banks and shopping malls. He explained that for the research to be done in the hospital environment, air samples would be collected with the help of a special device in the ICU, Kovid ward etc. The patient would be examined with samples collected from a distance of two to eight meters. He said changes could be made to protect health workers if they could define how far the virus could travel.
