Krishna: Devineni Avinash, in-charge of YSRCP East constituency, said that the retaining wall built by the previous government has become useless and water is still coming in despite the wall being constructed poorly. On Tuesday, he toured the Krishnalanka areas in Vijayawada which were submerged due to heavy rains and floods. Krishna spoke to Devineni Media while touring the 15th Division submerged in the Karakatta area. He said flood water from the upper reaches would reach the Prakasam Barrage and authorities would release water from the barrage to the lower reaches. Stated that the gradually coming flood flow would decrease. People are advised to be vigilant.
He said past rulers had recklessly halted the construction of the retaining wall in half. He said the current situation was due to the construction of the retaining wall being halted in half. The local emcee said no hands were visible except for the words, adding that the construction of the retaining wall would definitely be done by the government. Already Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has reminded that money has been allocated for the construction of the wall. He said the construction of the wall would be completed soon and people would be spared from the flood woes. Activists urged God to include all the people in the relief efforts.
