AMRAVATI: AP DGP Gautam Sawang has said that special focus will be laid on temples after the Antarvedi incident. It was revealed that 19 cases were registered on attacks on temples and 12 people were arrested. All the attacks on the temples were said to have taken place regardless of one another. He said the number of attacks on temples in 2020 was less than in the last five years. Bindover cases have been registered against 8,204 people who have committed similar offenses in the last six years. He clarified that a complaint had been received that the Nandi idol had been desecrated by thugs in Chittoor district and it was being investigated from all angles. Of the 47,593 prayer halls across the state, only 10 per cent have CCTV cameras. Notices were given to the organizers to install CCTV cameras in the remaining halls. In Srikakulam, the idol of God was broken due to rains. The DGP said that the accused who stole the statue in Kurnool has been arrested.
