Press Academy Chairman Devireddy Srinath Reddy said journalists who rendered valuable services during the Corona need to be recognized as Corona Front Warriors. Devireddy Srinath Reddy was the chief guest at an event organized by the Print and Electronic News Journalists Association of Andhra Pradesh (PEN) at the local Revenue Conference Hall on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, Srinath Reddy said that values are declining in journalism as time goes on. The onus is on the press academy as well as the journalist community to put a check on this. The journalist wants to work for the betterment of the society rather than the livelihood of the profession. He said it would be better for journalists if the power struggle between the unions ended. Talking to the Chief Minister on the problems of journalists, he said that he was surprised that so many people were like journalists. Some magazines aspire to change the status quo. Journalist unions want to put pressure on newspaper owners. Journalists want to unite if there is harassment against journalists. He said he would look into the laws in force in the neighboring states for the welfare of journalists. He said that the Press Academy was working hard for the development of journalists. He appealed to all unions not to drag the Press Academy into controversy. He said online classes would be conducted to impart skill training to journalists and online classes would be held in every district. He said the results would be new if awareness was given to rural journalists. Those interested in rural journalists are encouraged by the academy to study for a degree. . Avinigadda MLA Simhadri Ramesh Babu said Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy would take up the issue of journalists and take responsibility for ensuring genuine journalists in the union. He said that in the past journalists were meant to be respected and now they are being attacked. In this way a search is to be made as to what are the causes of the conditions. He said the financial condition of journalists needs to improve. He appealed not to support those who do unnecessary things in the pursuit of journalism. Prabhakar, president of the Penn State Association, said Penn would work not only for the welfare of journalists but also for the welfare of the community. An effective chairman has arrived at the Press Academy. Venkata Prasad, president of the district assembly, who presided over the meeting, said the government wanted to enact laws to regulate media companies operating without pay. He urged the Press Academy to discuss with intellectuals what steps should be taken to enhance the prestige of journalism. He also demanded that the state implement a pension scheme for journalists who have worked in other states for 20 years. Divi Market Yard chairman Kadavakollu Narasimha Rao said it was gratifying to see the police working equally with reporters with the Revenue Department during Corona.
